Dean joined the Regals in the 1993-94 season suiting up in a handful of games before becoming the official play by play voice of the club in 1995. In 1997 Dean was elected to serve under Shane Carlson as the clubs Vice- President, the year of the teams first Allan Cup. Following four years covering the team on local television and radio broadcasts, he left Powell River to pursue a professional broadcast career. Dean spent a season in the Central Hockey League as well as time in Colorado and Alberta before returning to Powell River. He was hired as Station Manager to build the town’s community radio station, 90.1 Jump FM. Dean is excited to be back as part of the Regals hockey club and rejoining Shane Carlson in the broadcast booth as the club works to become the first Allan Cup hosts to webcast all 11 tournament games.
