Shane CarlsonAssociate Media and Broadcasting
Like many involved with the Regals, Shane moved into a front office position before his playing days were over. He was elected team president in July of 1995, shortly after the club’s first trip to the Allan Cup Championship final four. During his 3-year tenure as President, the Regals represented the Pacific region at two more Allan Cups, including the championship season of 1997. When he wasn’t playing, Shane also found himself in the broadcast booth as colour commentator for the teams’ radio and television broadcasts. He is also known as the Regals trivia guru, using his knowledge during broadcasts for prize giveaways. Shane relinquished his duties after the 1998 season and relocated to the Vancouver area. He still resides in the lower mainland working in the movie and television industry. Shane was instrumental in having the Regals 2006 Allan Cup promotional DVD produced as the club looks to bring the tournament the exposure it deserves. Shane is excited to rejoin Dean Merrick in the broadcast booth as the Regals work toward becoming the first Allan Cup host to webcast all 11 tournament games. |
