March 11, 2010 REGALS WIN IN
SECHELT Powell River Regals travelled to Sechelt on Saturday for
a tune-up game against the Hitmen. In their last meeting the Hitmen
surprised the Regals with a gritty effort and handed them a very
exciting 8-7 defeat at the Powell River Recreation Complex to even
their record 1-1. Regals went down the coast with a roster of 15,
including Laszlo Tamasik in the net, for the game which was played
in front of about 400 fans. More...
February 10, 2010 REGALS REIN
IN HUSKIES Whitehorse picks up players from Vancouver in effort
to win. Powell River Regals boarded flights on Pacific Coastal
Airlines to Vancouver and connected to Air North to Whitehorse over
the weekend for a pair of AAA games against the Whitehorse Huskies.The
teams split a couple of games back in November but this time both
had acquired some new players to bolster their lineups in hopes
of attending the Allan Cup in Fort St. John starting April 19

2010 FANS PACK HOUSE FOR GARY LUPUL. Regals contribution truly
special for family .It takes an event of Olympic proportions
to get a sold-out hockey crowd into their seats prior to a game
in Powell River. Such was the case on Saturday night, not so much
to see the Vancouver Canucks and Powell River Regals alumni face

Saturday night at the Powell River Recreation Complex, Powell River
Regals and Mid Island Blazers took to the ice for the first time

TRIP SEES SPLIT Netminding key factor in outcomes. Powell
River Regal’s AAA hockey team travelled to Whitehorse over
the weekend to get a look at the Huskies, its eventual Savage Cup
opponent. The trip was made possible by its host who hasn’t
played a AAA game since it won the championship 16 years ago. In
1993 the Whitehorse Huskies beat host Quesnel Kangaroos to win the

ABOUT ALLAN CUP, UNTIL NOW Team aims for double challenge. Powell
River Regals team has added the Allan Cup to its agenda for the
2009-10 season. The AA team has attempted the double once before
in 2002 and although it achieved great success, Regals lost a 2-1
overtime decision to host Trail in the Coy Cup final while the AAA
team was swept by the Stony Plain Eagles in the MacKenzie Cup. More...

REGALS. Goaltenders stand out in home opener. Goaltending
was front and centre during the Powell River Regals’ home
opener on Saturday at the Powell River Recreation Complex. Unfortunately
for the Regals, Blazer’s Chris Hutchinson stopped all 27 of
Powell River’s shots and recorded the 2-0 shutout for his

HOME OPENER Powell River Regals break out of training camp this
week and won’t waste any time getting their season underway.
Regals will take on the Mid Island Blazers of Courtenay at 7:30
pm on Saturday, October 17 at the Powell River Recreation Complex.This

team that almost shocked the BC Senior Men’s AA hockey world

SIGHTS ON COY CUP. Last year the Powell River Regals set some long-term
goals and one of them was to focus on the talent pool available
to the team right here in Powell River. With that in mind, a young
Regals team almost pulled off an upset when it went to Terrace last
March and lost just one game, the final to Williams Lake Stampeders,

PLAY FOR McCALLUM CUP Game starts with partial roster Powell
River Regals doused the Mid Island Blazers on Saturday night, 5-3,
and guaranteed a shot at the McCallum Cup later in the month. The
win means that the Regals will enter the best-of-three series as
the only undefeated team following a forfeited victory the week

HONOURS ANDY McCALLUM Former Regal continues to contribute in
a big way. Powell River Regals have announced that the newly
formed West Coast Senior Men's Hockey League will play for a trophy

minutes. Powell River Regals hosted Mid Island Blazers on Saturday
night at the Powell River Recreation Complex where the Regals came

and lost two games to the Powell River Regals. On Saturday night

against its Vancouver Island rivals. North Island Capitals were

ROAD TO NORTH ISLAND TEAM...Team continues to tweak roster...Powell
River Regals went to the north of Vancouver Island for a couple
of games against the North Island Capitals on the weekend. Due to
previous arena commitments, the Regals team played its first game
on Saturday night, November 29, in Port Hardy and the second one
the next day in Port Alice. The team made the trip with a full roster
and two goaltenders and played before a couple of hundred fans in

WITH LOSS...'Enthusiastic' crowd on hand to cheer for team...Powell
River Regals hosted the Mid Island Blazers on Saturday night and
lost, 6-3. The game was the first of five up to the new year and

Troy Hunt for the MacKenzie Cup battle in the North Peace city.
The winner of the best-of-five series against the Bentley Generals,
of Alberta, would represent the Pacific zone at the Allan Cup in

March 28, 2007. REGALS DOUBLED IN
FINAL CONTEST..Powell River Regals relinquished the BC Senior Men's
AAA hockey title to Fort St. John Flyers, following the Savage Cup
final at the Powell River Recreation Complex, Saturday, March 24.Powell
River beat Fort St. John and the Trail Smoke Eaters in round robin
play last week, but surrendered three quick goals in the final and
never recovered. The win gave Fort St. John the first provincial

CUP.Still fresh from their trip to Belarus, Regals are gearing up
for another run at the Allan Cup. Three championships
in 10 years are nothing to sneeze at and the fact that they are
the hosts for the Savage Cup this year, from March 20 to 24 will
enhance their chances of contending for their fourth Allan Cup.

LEAGUE TEAM. Team Canada/Regals win hearts of hockey fans in Belarus
Powell River Regals' netminder Chad Vizzutti was named top goaltender
at an invitational hockey tournament in Belarus. According to Team
Canada/Powell River Regals media relations director Dean Merrick,
members of the media were shocked when they interviewed Vizzutti

JANRUARY 24, 2007 REGALS CAPTURE KOKANEE
CUP. Regals made the trip out to the Kootenays last weekend to take
part in the Kokanee Cup. Nasty winter road conditions made the trip
much longer than it usually is but the team arrived without incident
and took to the ice on Friday for their first game against the Jackson

were hoisting the Allan Cup over their heads after dominating their

announced that the Powell River Regals will embark on a trip to
Belarus from February 5-11, 2007 to represent Canada at the four-team
Belarus Cup, joining the national teams from Belarus and Latvia,

Powell River Regals travel to Trail this weekend for the first two
games of a best-of-five series to determine the winner of the Savage
Cup for the BC AAA Hockey Championship. Dean Merrick, the voice
of the Regals, will be webcasting the games on Friday and Saturday,
March 17 and 18. Both contests begin at 7:30 pm and a pre-game show
